Great place to spend weekend or more and relax. Property is in excellent condition, very friendly owners. Beautiful spiritual garden. It is dog friendly and it was a huge plus for us since we came with 120 lb German Shepherd... Kitchen had everything we needed. It is walking distance from beautiful empty beach and 1.5 Miles to downtown Bolinas. Highly recommended.

Beautiful flat, wonderful setting
This apartment has wonderful light and the kitchen, bathroom and living spaces are well constructed and very clean. It was a rainy weekend in Bolinas but we had a wonderful time anyway, and the hosts were welcoming and organized in terms of checking in etc.

Very comfortable stay, close to beaches and trailheads
We had a great stay, the studio is spacious and very comfortable, with some great views from the deck along with a nicely landscaped backyard. This town is not touristy, but people here are very courteous and helpful. We explored beaches in the area, caught a great sunset near the property, and hiked in Cataract falls and Mt. Tamalpais. Dom and Philippa are great hosts, we had some car troubles and they helped us out immediately, we are very grateful for their timely help. There is a convenience store in the town that has a deli attached, and a restaurant/bar.. We would love to go back again .

Very clean and comfortable. Hosts were very hospitable. Their dogs are adorable! Restaurants and bars require a drive, especially in rainy weather, but the places in Bolinas are friendly and the food is good. The local store in expensive—as you would expect—but carries enough to make a decent meal.

This property is much nicer than the photos indicate! Quiet location. Comfortable accommodations. Would have been nice to have a coffeemaker but the pour over carafe worked. Also,Bolinas was exceptionally hot during our stay and the unit was hot- a second fan would have helped

We really like Bolinas. The place is as advertized. Communication was slow, we had to call to find out how to check in. Communicatipn was however very friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a vey quiet and a bit remote place, this is it.

Not that great without toilet paper or forks
Arrived at the house to find only 1/2 a roll of toilet paper for a three-night stay. Tried to contact owner via VRBO app and got no response the whole time we were there. Then we found that there was not one fork in the place, so we went to the store the next day to get TP and plastic forks. To top it off, there is a pocket door for the bathroom, and it kept falling off of the slider mechanism and we could not get it back on its tracks. The place has potential, but without toilet paper or forks it becomes it a bit difficult. Add to the fact that you could not have bathroom privacy due to the faulty pocket door and it became a place we would never want to visit again. The fact that there was no communication from the owner is very disappointing.

Beautiful place away from it all!
Studio was very spacious and well-equipped for a great weekend away. The grounds were gorgeous, with lounge chairs in the garden and a cute little dog, Honey, who would love for you to throw her ball (but never barked.) It;s so quiet and serene, we loved it. Be sure to follow the owner's directions- Google Maps thinks the house is across the street from where it actually is.

The instructions were to park in a special place designed for guests. A cart port. However as we pulled into the property, a lady had already parked there and plugged her car in and quickly ran into the house. The email told us to park in that place. We knocked in the door where the lady went but no response at all. Calling or contacting the host was a failure on multiple attempts. The sign on the door said to take our shoes off, but if you do, you will end up with pet hair on your socks or bare feet. So the floor is not that clean for them to ask you to take youe shoes off. To get to this place, you must have an SUV to get thru the potholes in the little streets they have. I wouldve never made it there if i didnt have tires on my suv to handle it. But once you get there, it's ok.

This is a special spot to stay. The space was stocked with games, many books and comfy furniture. The kitchen had basic cooking supplies. Good TV offerings. The location, quiet and ambiance were very special and the main reason to come back to this spot.

Quiet scenic getaway
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the creative retreat on the Bolinas mesa near Agate Beach. The space has a spacious, open floor plan, very comfortable queen bed, beautiful hardwood floors, large windows providing bright natural light and a great book collection. The space is one unit of a duplex in a natural setting of lush vegetation, magnificent gardens overlooking the ocean in the distance with optimal privacy since the units only share parking space and a large outdoor deck overlooking the gardens. Agate Beach below a towering cliff with tide pools teeming with sea life was an easy 15 minute walk. Our host Phillippa was friendly, welcoming and freely shared her ideas on how to enjoy Bolinas

Quiet fall escape
I really enjoyed the Creative Retreat and Bolinas. I was looking for a secluded and very quiet spot on the coast, and I found it! The space is bright and clean (note that the kitchen is quite bare bones; don't assume anything will be provided beyond the absolute basics. I missed morning coffee.). The bed and couch are comfortable, and the overall feel is just fantastic. There are many reviews that comment on the roads, and I'll chime in to say that the neighborhood streets in this part of town are like unmaintained Forest Service backcountry roads. Don't bring a low clearance car and do a little diligence to find the route that maximizes time on pavement (hint: Elm Rd is your friend!). The Agate Beach County Park is wonderful for a walk, watching the surfers is a joy, the town has great food. Go, find some quiet, and enjoy yourself.
