En face de la plage dans le luxueux Palm Beach Estates de Playa Grande, cette maison de quatre chambres est nichée sur un grand terrain paysager avec une piscine à l'avant et la réserve naturelle à l'arrière. Il y a un nouveau patio couvert dans les arbres au-dessus du garage pour 2 voitures. Si vous avez de la chance, vous verrez des singes hurleurs à partir de là ou au retour du coucher du soleil sur la plage isolée - et plusieurs des meilleurs restaurants et bars haut de gamme de Guanacaste ne sont qu'à quelques pâtés de maisons.

La maison principale dispose de 3 chambres et 2 salles de bain complètes ainsi qu'une maison d'hôtes semi-attenante avec une chambre / salle de bain complète. Toutes les chambres sont équipées de lits queen size et de lits superposés, de la climatisation et de ventilateurs de plafond. La chambre principale a un lit King
Deux autres chambres ont un lit QUEEN et un lit superposé dans chacune.
Le semi-attaché a un lit queen et un lit superposé.

La cuisine est entièrement équipée, y compris un grand réfrigérateur avec machine à glaçons. Le patio avant spacieux carrelé et entièrement blindé a des ventilateurs de plafond double et un grand gril à gaz en acier inoxydable intégré. Les autres commodités comprennent une buanderie et un congélateur. Tout ce dont vous avez besoin! Dort confortablement huit personnes (avec des lits pouvant accueillir jusqu'à douze personnes, il y a même un service de bateau-taxi pour Tamarindo depuis le plus grand estuaire de mangroves d'Amérique centrale à trois cents mètres. Kalumina… l'endroit parfait où séjourner!

Loin de la ville, mais près de la plage
Nous avons séjourné à cette maison pendant 5 jours. Nous étions 9 personnes ( 4 adultes et 5 enfants). Il y avait amplement d'espaces pour tous. En général, nous avons très apprécié notre séjour à la Casa Kalumina. Nous avons apprécier la proximité de la Playa Grande et la tranquilité du secteur. Le tout était bien entretenu. L'eau de la piscine était clair et bien entretenu. La personne qui s'occupait de nous était très facile à rejoindre et l'ensemble de nos questions ou requêtes ont été répondues. Il faut être conscient qu'il n'y pas d'épicerie proche et que vous devez roulez entre 20-30 minutes pour vous rendre à Tamarindo. Par contre il y a un dépanneur tout prêt avec beaucoup de choses ( même alcool, vins, bières). La playa grande est magnifique et très pratique pour une famille avec enfants. L'eau est peu profonde et les vagues permettent de faire du buggy board en toute sécurité. Les jeunes ont vraiment profité de cette superbe plage. Nous avons également très apprécié nos soirées dans la véranda complètement fermé par des moustiquaires.

Villa as per pictures. 3 bedrooms in main villa including 2 large ones with adjacent bathrooms very appreciated. The 4th bedroom in outside casita does not have wifi. All bedrooms have air conditioning, a must to enjoy sleep. Beds were comfortable. Huge screened porch very nice and bbq quite useful. Kitchen very well equipped with a large number of pots and various accessories. One fridge rather tight for large family like ours. Beach towels and accessories very useful namely the tent for shade and the 4 chairs. No body surfs though. Small swimming pool as described. Water shortages at check in and on departure. Very good assistance from Shawna and Jorge for these issues. Very kind in providing tips / suggestions and booking chef for a birthday dinner. Area was noisy (roof construction, adjacent villa) but not Shawna-Jorge fault. Exceptional beach.

Great Spot for families
We stayed here with friends and family ages ranging from 2-14 and loved our time here. The screened in outdoor patio was great and there was a nice large table and grill. The pool was a bit smaller than what we thought, but was still enjoyed. The beach was walking distance and the sunsets are UNBELEIVABLE. We loved our stay here!

Peaceful Oasis On The Beach
Loved the place! Loved the Neighborhood! Loved the Beach! This was a wonderful quiet little spot just steps from gorgeous Playa Grande. If you want the hustle and bustle of Tamarindo it's only a quick water taxi away but feels like another world here. Plenty of great places to eat and drink and things to do just steps away but secluded and peaceful if you just want to soak in the pool on a hot day. Catch the extraordinary sunset on the beach and then treat yourself to a fresh fat tuna steak at Cafe Mar Azul! A perfect day!

Great Property Wasted due to poor management
House is a great size and layout. neighborhood is fantastic with great proximity to beaches and restaurants, etc. The screen room is particularly uNeful. When in a country like Costa Rica you have to be prepared for bugs and critters. However, it is reasonable to expect efforts to be taken to minimize them. In this case, the property manager does not seem to care in the least. The very first night we killed half a dozen cockroaches and figured out they were coming out of the shower drain. We solved this for the stay by covering the drains when we were not using them which meant we only had a few more to deal with over the stay. A simple stainless steel screen could have been installed. Then we turned off the lights to go to bed but 15 minutes later turned a kitchen light back on there was at least 50 ants crawling all over the counters. We had only just arrived and there was NO food anywhere. We fogged the kitchen with raid but ultimately leaving the lights on in the main areas all night was the only way to control the situation. This took the ants down to a manageable situation. You could also see where the carpenter type ants were eating through doors from the bottom. We also had live crabs and a scorpion to deal with. If this was my house I would be concerned. We checked out 2 days early and advised the property manager. We never received any form of acknowledgement or communication - none. Very unprofessional & in line with the standards we saw in use.

We had a nice stay at Casa Kalumina! House was in perfect location. Easy to get in touch with Shawna and Jorge during our stay for any questions we had. House had all the necessities! Spacious and A/C kept us comfortable during our stay. The outside was well maintained and kids enjoyed the pool which was mainly shaded and perfect for enjoying outside w warm temperatures. Less than 5 min walk to beach! Sunsets on beach were beautiful! We did surf lessons from Playa Grande Surf Camp right next door. We enjoyed the tight knit community and all the restaurants. 3 are in short walking distance and ALL had great food. There was a coffee shop close by as well. Grateful Dead restaurant had live music and was helpful in arranging water taxi to Tamarindo and several excursions. We did private estuary tour, walked around Tamarindo, surf lessons, and 4 person ATV side by side tour to remote beaches while staying at this house! Would highly recommend this house and location!! Thank you!!

Great villa with a tropical feel
We were a party of 6 adults and 2 babies and this villa was the perfect fit. It would have been a bit tight for 8 adults as the extra bedroom and bath is very small. The villa was well furnished with comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen. A lot of our time was spent in the pool and the screened in porch was a life saver. Although only 1 of the 2 fans worked it was a cool retreat from the heat. The location was great, less than a 5 min walk to a beautiful beach. Where we enjoyed sundown most days. About 20 mins walk into tamarindo (using the water taxi or walking across the estuary) and within a 5 min walk to 4 bars and restaurants and a small local grocery store and a couple of surf shops. The couple of bikes provided allowed us to venture a little further into playa granda, which is a 45 min walk. At the time of our visit there was construction at the lot next door and also across the street. They start prompt at 7am and finish around 5, which did spoil our visit somewhat but mike, Nancy and Shawna were upfront about that as soon as they knew it was starting and gave us the option of canceling or a discount. Final mike and Nancy and the property managers, Shawna and her husband, were amazing to deal with. AnswerIng all of our questions promptly and turning up to respond to our few concerns before I even had chance to check my check my phone. All the while, respecting our privacy. Thank you again to Mike and nancy for letting us stay in your property.

Great place for a family getaway.
This is a great place for a family getaway. Great location. Private and quiet community. Located so close to the public beach entrance. There are 2 very good restaurants located just steps away. The place is very spacious for a large group. Very clean and modern home. The enclosed patio was so great to hang out in at night - no bugs. The pool was clean and refreshing. The rooftop patio was a great hangout before sunset. The property manager was very attentive to all of our requests. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. We would definitely return to this place.

wonderful house
The property was as described. We had a wonderful stay. There was a total of 9 people in our party (kids aged 11-16 and adults). This house fit all of us perfectly. The screened in porch with a gathering area and large table was our favorite place to hang out when we were at the house. Kids swam in the pool many times. We could easily (within 4 minutes) walk to several places to eat. The only heads up for others to keep in mind is the attached room (4th bedroom). We wanted to put kids in that room, however when you stay in that attached room you are locked out of the main house for the night. We weren't super comfortable with that, so adults stayed in there instead. While it a nice quite room, the bathroom is super small. I was pretty jealous of my kids that had the master suite with a beautiful master bath. But I still can't complain because we were in Costa Rica for vacation!! I just wanted to give others a heads up. We absolutely loved the small beach town of Playa Grande. We made friends with many of locals and will definitely return.

Great amount of space for two families! Property manager was super helpful and answered every question and set us up with transportation and excursions. Beach was super close and the pool was delightful to retreat back to. Several nice restaurants nearby and a small minimart with essentials. We had a wonderful stay!

Fabulous house in a fantastic location
This beauty house was plenty big for our extended family of 9 people. My two granddaughters especially loved the swimming pool. We loved the screened in patio and sat outside to eat , worked on puzzles, played games, and talked. My husband and I stayed in the guest house and enjoyed a little more privacy. We all went swimming and boogie boarded in the waves. We loved the close proximity to the beach and the restaurants which were a 2 minute walk. The food was excellent In the the two restaurants we dined at. The kitchen was fully equipped with spices and condiments, paper towels and trash bags. They provided beach towels, chairs, and boogie boards. All so helpful for our family vacation. We would definitely come back.

Simply paradise
The location is perfect, if your looking for a place that is remote yet close to all the perfect tiki huts and such, this is the place. Close to the town, yet separated by an estuary... water taxi a short walk away or a hike down the beach. My favorite part of the house is the cabana above the garage. Our kids took surfing lessons from the place next door, by the end of the afternoon they were fully surfing on their own, we did several excursions and had an awesome time. Will rent again and look forward to returning.

Beautiful Playa Grande
This was a great place to stay in Playa Grande. The house was perfect for our 2 families which included 5 high school/college age boys. The beds were comfortable and there is air conditioning in each bedroom which was great. The screened in porch was amazing. We spent all our time out there playing games and hanging out if we were home. The walk to the beach is short. We boogie boarded out front and the boys drove to opposite end of PG to surf at least once a day. The surf while we were there is definitely better by Rip Jacks. You can park and walk on a short trail to the beach. There was a lot more people down at that end and was about a 5 minute drive. The house has 2 beach cruisers which we enjoyed for a few days until one got a flat tire. We immediately told them, but sadly they didn’t fix it, which was a bummer. We could ride out a path to the estuary and lock bikes up, hop on a shuttle boat and be to Tamarindo in 15 minutes. The moms went over there to learn to surf since waves were better for beginners. Our whole group also went over there for lunch one day and took the Mangrove tour in the estuary another. So the location of the house is great and offers lots of adventures. The pool is very small but was refreshing to jump into after the beach. The upstairs deck over the garage was a nice quiet reprieve with a couple hammocks and a nice breeze. The only time we all went up there was during a thunder storm and we could see the whole storm from there since it is covered, which was thrilling. We cooked several times in the kitchen and it had everything we needed except a wine bottle opener, we were there for a week and the housecleaners came once and washed towels and cleaned, it would have been nice to have her come one more time midweek, but she showed up a second time the night before we left while we were packing so I told her not to bother. Lots of creatures, outside only. Raccoons, a skunk, and lots of crabs which were entertaining. No monkeys on the property, but we did see them several times on our way to the beach. The property has a beautiful garden. Is gated and very safe. We would recommend staying here and to come back. My only thing that would be nice, is some nicer patio furniture, only a small love seat and 2 chairs for our group. We just brought plastic chairs in from pool and used dining chairs that are on patio which was fine. There are a couple restaurants on the block with good food and serv.ice. Pura Vida,
