« Derided by some, Britannia Hotels do the nation a great favour by taking on some of the ‘glamour hotels’ of the past. In making them affordable for the mass market compromises have to be made and with the Palace Hotel this shows in some of the areas of decor. The ‘Spa’ was a limited experience- a small weights room, an excellent steam room and sauna but the pool was cold and there was no “jacuzzi”.
