Nice location and spacious unit, but needs some housekeeping
We stayed for two nights. The property location was ideal as we were in town for family weekend at the University of Maine. The house was about halfway between Orono and Acadia. There was ample parking.
The duplex was spacious with plenty of seating at the kitchen table and in the family room. There were sufficient plates, bowls, cups, and utensils for our small group of 4. There were window coverings on every window which was nice in a wooded, unfamiliar area. The concrete floors are very hard on your feet (which likely makes them easier to clean, but impossible to stand on for any length of time without shoes for me.)
The only complaints about the duplex are related to cleanliness. The quilts in the back two bedrooms were dingy and rather off-putting. There were visible stains and they just looked as if they hadn't been washed in a long while. The sheets seemed clean enough. The towels were rather thin. I found multiple hairs on one I used, and my son-in-law said there appeared to be a booger on one of theirs.
The shower curtain liners had hard water stains on them and the white shower curtains also had water line stains on them.
Overall it was a nice rental, but there needs to be more of a focus on cleanliness. Perhaps purchase new quilts and swap them out whenever there are guests so that they are clean. This kind of short term rental is too expensive with all the extra fees added in for the bedding and towels to be dirty.
