As you walk up the garden steps past the lemon tree, you’ll fall instantly in love with this decadent country villa in the Dordogne. Though it has been recently renovated for modern life, it retains the old French charm you expect and adore. From the sweeping marble staircase to the classic and clever indoor/outdoor kitchen and terrace, every feature has been beautifully designed to keep you and your guests in perfect comfort.
You’ll breathe easily in the vast gardens, where if you peek past the nearby trees you’ll find boundless views of the countryside. The swimming pool sits away from the main house in the shade - imagine doing laps here in privacy and silence, the wide sky opening above you. Peace and comfort rule the day at this French holiday villa - just as it should be.
You must visit Chateau Henri IV in Nérac (7 km), where the architecture dates back to medieval times. The birthplace of foie gras, Nérac has extraordinary local foods at the market on Saturdays. And of course, wineries are all around - the nearest airport is in Bordeaux, an hour and a half away. It's clear this holiday villa is an epicurean's delight.
