GREAT VALUE! The perfect cabin in the woods, 15 minutes away from Deep Creek.

Welcome to Fern Hill Cabin with a spacious living room, kitchen, a cozy loft with a queen bed and futon and private bedroom with a queen bed. On the first floor there's a full bath and on the second floor a 1/2 bath. You'll love spending time on the screened porch or just relaxing around the campfire. A short drive will get you to all the great spots the Deep Creek area has to offer. Please be advised a 4-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicle is needed for the winter months. My recommendation is from Nov. 1 to Apr. 15. Roads are plowed but the area can receive several inches of snow at any one time. Please be advised we provide no towels or linens for beds. Please bring your towels, sheets and pillowcases for queen beds (king size sheets would also work).

Pleasant and comfortable getaway spot with great hosts
My brother, sister, and I came here for a sibling getaway and were very pleased with the experience. The hosts communicated well and were accessible throughout—the house rules were minimal and common sense. Check-in was simple, and we were grateful to be allowed in a couple hours early! The cabin itself is homey, clean, and well-stocked. Couches, beds, and outdoor seating were all very comfortable. Good kitchen space. There are a few other cabins in the area, and because it was early spring when we came, there wasn't much foliage to hide them from view. However, the neighbors were quiet and we enjoyed sitting outside and enjoying the fire pit and scenery. All in all, a great experience, and we hope to come back again soon!

Highly recommend!
Wonderful place to relax and unplug! Cabin was very clean, modern and well stocked. Beds comfy. Kitchen had everything we needed. Shower had great pressure. Stayed very warm even with it being negative temps outside. Enjoyed the little fireplace heater in the living room. Loved sitting in the loft on the rocking chair watching out the big windows as the snow fell. Enjoyed watching the birds at the feeders. Very quiet area, nice little hike in the woods. Owner was wonderful at communicating and gave us great advice about the area. It snowed about 18 inches while we were there, they were great about plowing the driveway. The screened porch would be a wonderful place to enjoy in warmer weather. Enjoyed winter hiking at Swallow Falls State Park and XC skiing at Herrington Manor State Park. Highly recommend!

We (3 gals over 55) loved our stay in the cabin in the woods! It is very well stocked with amenities. Very nice setting with fire pit and screened in porch. Bring sausage and not bacon as you cannot cook bacon in the house per house rules. Also, it’s a bring your own sheets and towels. All in all it’s a cozy place! Very clean!

We had a lovely stay. The place was very clean. I think it’s great to bring your own sheets and towels. I also brought hand towels and a dish towel which were useful. The host thought of many details and I ended up not needing a lot of the extra supplies that I had packed. We would definitely stay again!

Without reservation we highly rate this cabin. Had read numerous reviews before booking and we totally agree with those favorable ratings. The cabin was clean and exceptionally well furnished. The owners were so thoughtful in supplying virtually anything that you might need for your stay plus some unexpected welcoming items. We enjoyed the privacy and quiet of the location. We found the bed very comfortable. Meals were easy to prepare as the kitchen was well laid out and abundantly supplied with cooking pots and pans, microwave, toaster, etc. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and highly recommend this option. Wish we could have stayed longer. Would readily come back for another visit.

An absolute delight
Fern Hill Cabin is a lovely, warm, welcoming space. It’s beautifully decorated without ever feeling cluttered. There are notes and signs to help you find anything you might need, and the cabin is stocked with thoughtful touches like a first aid cabinet and packaged toothbrush/toothpaste kits “in case you forgot”. Susan was wonderfully communicative, checked in on us to make sure everything was ok when the area was getting storms, and made us feel like we were welcome guests, not just renters. It was the perfect relaxing world getaway, and exactly what we were hoping for.

If u want to escape from city life, check out fern hill cabin. Comfortable, clean, everything u need plus things u may have forgot! Easy to enter cabin and owner very nice touching base with us during a wind storm. We would definately rent again.

Perfect Winter Getaway Spot
The cabin made a great place for a winter getaway. The cabin is nicely and comfortably decorated. The kitchen was a nice size and well equipped for modest meals. There is a nice wide screen smart tv and DVD player perfect for a stay in day movie binging. The host was very accommodating. Our arrival was delayed a full day due to severe weather and she stayed in constant touch before our trip to keep us informed of local conditions.

Had a wonderful time at this sweet little cabin. The kitchen is well stocked, lots of cozy places to lounge and read or play board games. The beds are super comfortable. The screened in porch and fire pit made for a fun stay with lots to do. I recommend this spot for a cozy getaway in the woods.
