FARM OASIS
Very cool and fun farm/home feel location. Once we arrived it was just as relaxing as it looked before we booked. The pool is awesome, the grounds are open and if you have pets which we did are perfect for the pups to run around. There are Peacocks! I KNOW. So great to see the roosters just walking around. Easy access to the town for quick shopping but if your looking to relax this is the place.

Magical
What a great experience that this house provides! The large great room with pool table and musical instruments gave our family the space to lounge, relax and reconnect. The town of Kent is minutes down the road with delicious restaurants and entertainment. The northwestern area of Connecticut is teeming with natural beauty and the rustic stone swimming pool was a great place to spend all day outside and off technology. It’s definitely a unique rental experience that makes for a great break from the ordinary.

Gorgeous cabin on a beautiful property
We had an amazing time hanging out in the pool, enjoying the fire pit, grilling on the porch, throwing a frisbee on the lawn, and just hanging out in the spacious cabin. Plenty of beds and couches, nice kitchen (with two refrigerators), and a cozy vibe all around.

Farm and Funk (the good kind)
We wanted a low-key place with a swimming option and loved our stay. A little something for everyone--chickens, peacocks, beautiful pool, musical instruments, pool table, and just overall a very unique and lovely property. My only suggestions would be to add some hooks to hang clothes n towels (bathrooms/bedrooms) and maybe put up some type of privacy element between house next to pool and the pool itself (potted plant/curtains, etc) --would enhance the privacy element. Though again, loved our stay and would return. Our pooch Lola loved it too - she is not a chicken chaser and seemed to not to want to leave either.

Great location for Kent School
House was very clean and good communication with the owner. I was a little disappointed that they charge $75 a night per person on top of the regular rental rate. We had two parents and our 2 kids and had to pay for 3 extra people (the place sleeps 14). I’ve done rentals all over the world and this is the first time I’ve encountered this. So please prepare to spend that extra money.

Property is unique! So nice to wake up to freerange chickens and peafowl peering in at you! As all older properties, this one has its quirks but the hosts are very responsive and incredibly helpful leaving detailed notes about the property and its ammenities.

Wonderful stay!!
The property is beautiful 😍. Best part of the property is definitely the pool. Guy is by far the best owner we've come across in all our years of renting vacation properties! Spacious and lots to do. The pool table was a big hit with the kids. If you're big city people like us it was so relaxing to be in a quiet peaceful environment for a few days. Would definitely stay here again.

Don’t Go!
The place was hot, musty and had bugs. We had arrived 15 mins before check in and left before check in time. We could not stay there without air conditioning and windows would not open. Guy, the owner, was very unreasonable. So we left upon arrival.

We were in town for a wedding about 20 minutes away. House was fun and great for our needs. Really liked the proximity to downtown Kent yet such a rural/natural feel of the home. Did not use pool but it looked great

A Perfect House & Space for a Great Country Getaway! 5/5 Stayed August 2021 Jay and Cindy G. New York City The house was the perfect setting for a week’s stay for our family’s getaway. The Spirit Horse Farm is located on a beautiful piece of property, a mile outside of Kent Connecticut. The space offers something for everyone. The central house is a very funky converted barn. The ambiance is very laid back but offers all guests top notch musical instruments, a professional pool table, a chef’s kitchen, (with homegrown organic eggs, jams, breads, and cookies thrown in by the owners). Guy and Christine are pro-active and will make certain your trip has no faux pas. There is a comfortable spacious back porch area, offering a spacious deck, grill, privacy and a beautiful large private in-ground stone pool for the summers heat. The bedrooms are suitable for a 5–75-year-old occupant. Tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. Modern washer-dryer. Every claim and amenity offered is 100% accurate. This is a home away from home and a great summer retreat. Our 5-year-old-grandson loved the big tire swing hanging from the big oak tree in the circular driveway. Avian life plays a part as there are hens and roosters, peacocks, and doves who put on a choreographed air- show circling the property. Kent State Park with a beautiful waterfall is just a 5-minute drive away. Many of the town’s restaurants and local restaurants in Litchfield County are amongst the best in the state. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend this house to others. Published Aug 18, 2021

Overall nice stay but …
This is a great place for kids especially with the instruments. The horses were not there so a little disappointed. I would highly suggest when people check in to do a tour with Guy or Christina so they can show you how everything works because from the showers to the burners some things are not working or you have to use little tricks.. Pictures are not really accurate especially the room with the twin beds but we had a good time. I think the place just need a full revamp to fix all the little things that don’t work but kids would definitely love the place :)

Great escape in the country
We enjoyed a wonderful Fourth of July weekend at Spirit Horse Farm. The property is very unique and complimented by the lovely setting in a progressive, quiet town. We had a group with ages 5-70+ who all found something to enjoy about the house and surrounding area. My son loved the pool and peacocks and my parents enjoyed the architectural details of the house and the proximity to attractions like Kent Falls and the town center. The hosts also left treats like fresh eggs, bread and fruit - which were great touches! Overall it was a great time!

The inside of barn was amazing! The grounds were somewhat unkept. Disappointed pool was not heated. Overall, would consider staying there again.

Escape from the city
Stayed with my family with ages ranging from late 60s to 2 years old. This property is very unique and rustic. It is on a farm with beautiful free range chickens and a peacock, did not see any horses during our stay, and owners are in a separate house on the property. Owners are very nice and gives you plenty of space and freedom to make you feel like you are at home. The pool was the best part, very clean and well kept. Only reason we did not give 5 stars is because we found the house to be dusty, noticed cobwebs in several places, and the floors were a bit gritty when we arrived. We let the owner know and he was very receptive to our feedback. My kids had a great time especially with the rope and wooden swing at the big tree in front of the house. Also note, there are a lot of stairs as the grandparents had a slightly hard time. Otherwise, this property gave us what we were looking for, an escape from the city.

Unique stay in Kent
Guy was extremely accessible and helpful. The barn was one of the more interesting places I’ve stayed - tons to do (inside and out) including musical instruments, pool table , chess, a gym and a lovely outdoor pool. We unfortunately were there during a tropical storm and multi day power outage which was tough and disappointing as we only had a couple of days to truly enjoy.

Guy and Christine were fantastic! The property was just what we needed to relax and getaway from the city. We had an emergency with our dog. If it weren't for their quick actions, we would have spent our time in a vet E.R. They were so helpful, and able to tell us the best places to hike. Can't wait to come back!

Much needed R&R
Spirit Horse Farm is full of character. The main floor is huge and has several seating areas, which would be great for large groups. I visited with 2 friends to get out of the city for a few days. Guy is very responsive and helpful. The air conditioner in my room broke the first night and he got a new one within a day or two. We went to the grocery store and our car broke down- Guy was wonderful and picked us up at the store and even drove my friend to the garage 15 miles away to pick up her car from the shop. That’s way above and beyond. The only minor thing I would suggest is putting some fans on the main floor. The windows don’t open and there’s no screen door on the front door, so we could leave that open. It got very hot and muggy on the first floor. Other than that, the house is very clean and the back deck is a wonderful place to have coffee in the morning!

Unique home and wonderful location
This home was really unique and felt instantly relaxing as soon as we walked inside of it. While you felt the calm of being "away," you are just a 3 minute drive to shops, restaurants and grocery stores and within 20 minutes of great hiking and skiing. In addition, the owners made our son and our dogs feel really welcome, which was really special to us.
