Contemporary Studio with Panoramic Ocean Views

Welcome to the Arbutus Ridge Studio, this is an open concept studio on the lower level of a West Coast Contemporary home. Enjoy panoramic ocean views from the floor to ceiling windows or from the deck. The studio is professionally styled with high end modern furniture and decor though-out. The bed is dressed in hotel inspired linens. Shopping and all major amenities are 5 minutes away. Relax on the deck that features modern out door furniture and a fire bowl.

The Arbutus Ridge Studio is 575 square feet and the layout resembles a high-end, modern style condo. The studio is bright and filled with natural light, has 10 foot ceilings, and floor to ceiling windows with panoramic ocean views.

There is a queen bed, fully equipped kitchen, gas fire place, full bathroom with glass enclosed shower (no bathtub) and washer/dryer.

The bathroom has heated floor, hotel inspired towels and spa like shampoo/conditioner/body wash. There is a smart TV, basic cable, Netflix and WIFI.

There is a Keurig coffee machine and complimentary coffee pods.

The kitchen is equipped with basic cookware to prepare meals for dining in. Meals can be prepared using the induction burner, Ninja Air Fryer or BBQ.

Relax on the deck, complete with high end outdoor furniture and a fire bowl.

Guests are welcome to use the washer/dyer and the complimentary laundry detergent.

There is no bedroom, the queen bed is located in the studio space

The studio is suitable for up to 2 guest only.

Not suitable for children.

There is a flight of stairs on the side of the house that leads to the studio, there are no stairs inside the studio

There are 2 security cameras on the property. There are no cameras inside the studio or outside the entrance door to the studio

2. This camera is located at the back of the house, this camera covers our family room door. This camera is actively recording. The guests do not have access to this part of the house & they will not be captured on the camera.

Parking is only available for one standard sized single vehicle.

There is NO turnaround for oversized/over-length vehicles or trailers, do not attempt to bring them up our road or you will have difficulty getting out.

Any oversized vehicles need to be parked at the bottom of our side road access, on the main street.

- Please do not wear your shoes inside the home.
- No shellfish permitted on the property. The homeowner has a shellfish allergy.
-No smoking, vaping, or cannabis use on the property or inside the studio.
- No parties, events, or loud music on the deck or on the property.
- Noise bylaws are in effect between 11pm to 7am, please respect the neighbours
- No pets


When checking-out, please remember to,

-Tidy studio; load and run the dishwasher, start a load of towels.
-Leave trash, recycling, and refundables in the suite.
-Upon departure, turn off all the lights inside the studio, close and lock windows and the door, and turn off the fireplace and turn down the baseboard heat.
-Sign out of your Apps and streaming accounts, such as Netflix, Disney+, etc.
Please take all left-over food with you.

There are 3 cameras on the property as described below. There are no cameras recording inside the studio or outside the entrance door to the studio.

1. This camera is located at the front of the house and covers the front door & driveway. This camera is actively recording

2. This camera is located at the back of the house, this camera covers our family room door. This camera is actively recording. The guests do not have access to this part of the house & they will not be captured on the camera.

3. There is a security alarm control panel located in the suite that is not in use when guests are staying. This panel has a camera on it to capture a photo if the alarm has been set off. The camera does not record live footage and the only time it activates is when the alarm is tripped and it takes a snapshot picture. It does not have the capability to record video at all and will only ever activate for a photo when the alarm system is set off.

What a gem! This studio had everything you can wish for, truly one of the best stays I’ve everbooked. The view with the fireplace was absolutely stunning. Heidi was super friendly and communicative as well. Don’t look elsewhere, this is the getaway you need!

New Development Under Construction
I was really looking forward to getting out of the city and enjoying a few days of quiet and lazy loungy reading. When I arrived, I was delighted to see that the suite was just as lovely as it was advertised. It was impeccably clean, beautifully curated and well stocked with everything needed for my stay. Imagine my alarm as I noticed in the perifery of the stunning view a ginormous excavator across the street. The workers began arriving on Harley's and in big rig trucks at 7:30am and the engine of excavator turned at 8:00 am on the dot. The cacophony of sound and vibration that ensued was untenable, and made staying impossible. I let the host know I was leaving via VRBO site and received no response. A later conversation requesting some form of compensation is still unresolved. I would have expected the listing to include a mention of the extent of construction in the area or to have had the host reach out to me when I made a midweek booking. If you are planning to stay on the weekend, or are an early riser with plans of being out and about all day, I imagine that this would not be an issue, however if you are looking for a midweek getaway from the noise of the city, you will not find respite here until the construction is completed.

Modern and clean studio, great view
The studio is lovely, well situated, well-appointed and super clean. Enjoyed the patio furniture and view of the water. The location is a bit odd, on a little road in a development of new homes which many are in the process of being built, so lots of work trucks around and sounds of construction during the day, which encroaches on the serenity. Some day, that'll end. Either way, great place, excellent hosts.

Good location for accessing anywhere in Nanaimo. A bit farther from the ocean than we expected but great view of the Coast Range. Property not ready when we arrived. Quite new. Pleasant stay. Easy access to good restaurants.
