This property is going through multiple changes, including a name change to Hampton Inn from Holiday Inn Express, that I was not informed me. As I checked in, after 3:30pm, I was told by the front desk person that my room was not ready and to leave a number where I could be contacted. When I asked when the room would be available, the same person told me that she wasn't sure. I was kindly informed that I could wait by the pool, but wasn't told how long the wait would be in the 77 degree weather. Since I was not sure how long I would wait for my room to be available, I inquired if I could switch to another room, that was available. This was something the front desk did do, but with hesitation.
Also, while booking this trip more than a month ago, I indicated that I was traveling with a pet, and I complied with the requests. After checking in and unloading my luggage, and with my pet next to me, the same front desk lady mentioned, "You have a pet. Good thing I caught that, since it cost $75.00 for your pet." I told her, "Do what you want." I told her that I went through Expedia and I mentioned that I was traveling with a pet, and I knew how much the fee was." Her tone was more concerned with charging a pet fee than accommodating me with a room that should have been ready at 3:00pm.
There are more concerns I share, and I will not be returning to this specific hotel, regardless if I have regular travel plans to this city.
