The Great Escape est un endroit parfait pour s'évader mais pour être proche de tout ce que le lac Anna a à offrir. Une immense salle de jeux située au niveau inférieur comprend une table de ping-pong, une table de billard, une table de poker et un espace bar idéal pour les journées pluvieuses ou une retraite nocturne après une longue journée passée sur l'eau. Attachez votre bateau ou jet ski à l’un des deux cales ou sortez l’un des deux kayaks tandem ou simple. Il y a de la place pour errer dans la grande cour avec une plage privée.

Cette maison est sur le côté public du lac Anna. Il est situé à proximité de plusieurs restaurants, à quelques minutes de route de l’eau et à deux à cinq minutes du centre commercial New Bridge et de Lake Anna Plaza par la route. Roomy house, great dock
Our large extended family enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean and roomy. Some minor problems with uncomfortable furniture and broken patio furniture didn't keep us from having a great time. The house is well-located on the lake, with plenty of smooth water for boating and skiing. A grocery store is 5 minutes away. The advertised small beach is really a sand box, but that was okay. We have booked for next summer.

Good house for multi-family lake trip
This was a large house located directly on the lake. Check-in process was easy, the house was clean, and, The cleanup steps to check out were minimal. It does look like the bedroom configuration was a little different than what we expected - with only two bedrooms in the basement, three on the main floor, and four bedrooms on the upper level. Still a total of nine bedrooms, so it all worked out fine. All in all, this was a good house to rent for a large family lake trip.

Spacious with a great view
We enjoyed being all together in this beautiful, spacious house! The double fridges were awesome and we had some great meals together! The house was decently stocked, but disorganized. We were also frustrated by lots of broken furniture, all the games in the game room were broken or missing pieces (that was a big reason we booked this house) and the house was not completely clean when we arrived. Their communication was excellent, tho, lots of texts to be sure we were satisfied and they were quick to respond. We were missing a complete coffee pot and they brought a new one right over. Even though we were disappointed in the state of the house, we are thankful for the spacious accommodations and that we could all be together!

Spacious House - Great for Friends Weekend
We stayed with several families and small children and found the house suited our needs. Very spacious and well laid out with room for everyone to spread out but also come together in the TV and play rooms as well as the spacious kitchen. Access to the lake was great and we appreciated the kayaks that gave us a chance to get out on the water. There were some quirks with the furniture and a couple missing kitchen items that would have come in handy but overall would recommend and would return!

Great weekend
We had our family reunion at The Great Escape. Beautiful home, plenty of room for everyone. A couple of suggestions: Pressure wash the exterior, the mildew is not attractive. Perform maintenance on the bathrooms. Some toilets were non functional. It's an expensive rental and our group expected better.

Great space
Loved all the outdoor seating, large kitchen and 3 refrigerators, pantry was a bonus. Had perfect weather and several of us used the kayaks. We were disappointed to get a message from the rental company that our group was too loud after 10:00. There was another large group next door to us, so not certain we were the issue. We had groups around the firepit, had no singing or loud music, just family catching up after no visiting for several years. Overall we had a wonderful time and would like to come back next year. Also, the listing says 9 bedrooms but there were 10. Didn’t need the air mattress we brought.

Excellent location for a large family gathering!
The property was beautiful and well maintained. The rooms were large and there was plenty of room to break up into small groups or be all together in the kitchen/dining area. This was a large family gathering with my 92 year old father, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We used the deck, dock and boat house all week (rented a pontoon boat and brought kayaks). The area was perfect for our needs and everyone enjoyed the trip. Showers needed a second cleaning before they were really clean but the managers were very responsive and had someone out quickly. The humidity outside was very high and made the basement floor very humid and one bedroom in the basement had no vent so was stuffy but other than that the home was comfortable.. We would rent again if going to that area.

Poorly maintained
Arrived to the house being 82 degrees on main level and 86 upstairs level. First night....miserable. Air conditioning was not working. Good thing we brought air mattresses along and were able to set up in the basement(nothing like spending $10k+ and have to put your family on air mattresses...Second day spent managing vendors...nice HVAC tech that had to call his boss to help him identify what the issue may be...he almost left saying "this is is good as it is gonna get" when the temp upstairs was 82 degrees and not falling. Fortunately, we told him he couldn't leave til he got the temp to drop and he put a thermometer on the fan and realized it was not blowing cold air. Eventually after being at the property for about 4+ hours and having his boss show up, they found a unit on the other side of the house that was the issue. Meanwhile, one of the inside refridgerators stopped cooling, so another appliances tech had to come out to defrost the bottom freezer and fix that unit, and also looked at the separate ice maker in the bar and said that unit was a lost cause. Luckily we did not lose any food, but we did lose precious vacation time managing the vendors and a property that we paid handsomely for. Additionally, we tried to follow the "no shoes" in the house rule, until we all realized that the bottom of our feet were black. The floors were clearly not cleaned and the carpets were filthy. Disgusting. Needless to say, the ladies in the group were unamused. Outside, the deck and patio need power washed and overall the property is simply not maintained. Very disappointed that we spent the first couple days aggravated, hot and texting and calling for help and then having to manage a maintenance team. We were supposed to be relaxing on vacation. It was our first time to Lake Anna and compared to our experiences at the Poconos and Deep Creek Lake, it was lack luster mainly because of the property.

Weekend away
We needed a house rental for a long weekend and this one delivered. We had 15 adults in our party, and we had plenty of room to hang out, gather, separate and relax. This house was awesome, we will stay again and hopefully next time in the summer so we can use the lake.

Our Family Thanksgiving
We had a wonderful time at Lake Anna. The property was perfect for our large family of 15 adults and 2 children. There was plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable and the children loved playing pool, basketball and ping pong along with games and puzzles. The house was clean and well stocked with everything we needed to prepare dinners for 17 people. Having 2 dishwashers was incredible! Due to the beautiful fall weather, we were able to relax around the gorgeous fire pit and view of the lake. The location is close to many activities and outdoor activities. We loved the house and location.

A Wonderful Family Retreat
This was a beautiful, extremely spacious home that accommodated our family of 21 easily! The view and access to Lake Anna was wonderful, and we spent many hours out at the boat house swimming, sunbathing, boating with water sports, and with rented jet skis. The trip was as much fun as any family get-together we've ever had!

A great location to get away to!
We used the house to host a quilting retreat with 15 people. There was plenty of room for us to sew, cook and eat our way through the week. We thoroughly enjoyed the house, the lake view, and the eagle nest in the backyard!

Perfect lakeside retreat
It appeared that the owners were in the very final stages of an exterior refresh of the house when we arrived - The new look of the house and deck is absolutely gorgeous, and some of the furniture inside has been upgraded from the photos as well. Everything was pretty much outstanding - decently comfortable beds and plenty of space for us to spread out and be comfortable, though (as with most vacation rentals in my experience) the kitchen supplies are hit or miss, (like, 15 spatulas but an incomplete set of measuring cups and spoons, and ZERO kitchen knives that weren't serrated.). We also struggled (as did another reviewer) with the TV situation - we could not get the direct TV to work, and the remote for the main TV in the living room was completely broken - we had to use the buttons on the back of the tv and could only power on and adjust the volume, but the sound was terrible. There were additional speakers and a subwoofer, but we had no way to control them or adjust the volume. The DVD player was the only device that worked with the TV. As expected, wifi was iffy but we used it as an excuse to disconnect the kids from devices and they spent most of their time in the multiple kayaks and fishing from the dock, or in the basement which was loaded with fun. When work needed to get done, we used a personal hotspot, which worked nicely. All in all, we loved the place, especially since it was dog friendly. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

It is a great house!! The kitchen was HUGE & became the main hangout space for our stay. Definitely going back next year. My only suggestion would be that you get more wood /load. We order two loads of wood ($100) & it seemed to be a very small amount that we got.

Big house with potential to be great
This was a beautiful house that has the potential to be a amazing vacation stay, however, there were a few major issues that made our stay less than great. -Communication with the property manager was underwhelming. Messaging on the Vrbo app was quick & easy, but checking in to the property was difficult. I received an email that was meant to include access codes for the house key lockbox, but the email didn't actually include that information. In the email, I was told to call the host the week of to arrange checkin, but when I did, they said I was good to go and sounded confused as to why I was even calling. When I arrived at the property, I had to call Vrbo to get that access code, but the cell service in the area is very poor, making calling difficult. The call took over 10 minutes, as they did not have the access code on hand at first, then gave me an incorrect code, then put me on hold for over five minutes until they could find the right code. -The master bathroom had a number of difficulties. The toilet had flushing difficulty. Sometimes there would be no issue at all, but sometimes it wouldn't flush anything- even just 2-3 squares of toilet paper. Also, the sink on the righthand side sprayed everywhere. -The wifi was ridiculously slow, and we tried the troubleshooting instructions provided by the host. That did nothing. There is very poor cell service in the area, so we relied on the wifi. If more than 3 people were connected and using it at once (even if not using it for high-bandwidth things such as streaming), it would become so slow that nothing at all would load for anyone. Wifi that only accommodates 3 people in a house that is meant for 30 people is extremely underwhelming. There were SO MANY BUGS in the house. I understand lake properties are prone to bugs, but the webs and the bug nests on the front porch and inside indicate to me that it is more a matter of lack of cleaning on the host's part. We kept all doors and windows closed, so us leaving doors open is not a possible cause, either. -The upstairs bedroom with a private bathroom had blinds missing from the room. This bedroom's balcony was also inaccessible due to a locked door, which was rather disappointing. The house key didn't open the balcony door, which was strange. Overall, the property was beautiful. However, the number of issues present took away from the quality of our stay.

Plenty of room and comfortable
The kitchen was great for 9 people. Comfortable furnishings. Close to a cidery and wineries. Beautiful view. The WiFi was not accessible, only the TV in the large room would work and several light bulbs were out. I offer these observations for improvements. Overall it was lovely and worth a visit if you are looking to go to Lake Anna.

We loved our stay at the Great Escape which has a fun game room, covered boat dock, a huge kitchen, tons of large bedrooms, and a great DVD collection. However, there are many maintenance issues that were encountered: 1) toilet chain broken 2) fridge leaking with constant puddle on floor of kitchen 3) pool table with dead bumpers 4) remote controls with no batteries and main TV with terrible sound 5) other house TVs non functional or missing key pieces like the x box plug or DVD remotes 6) cabinet missing hinges below the kitchen sink 7) old cushion chairs on the deck and most furniture is pretty old 8) ripped and old floaties at the dock

Perfect for large groups!
I stayed here over the 4th of July with a large group of friends. There are 20 bedrooms and for the most part, every room has their own bathroom. It was perfect for our large group because everyone had a bed and there wasn’t any uncomfortable sharing of rooms. I would say this house is actually better than what you see on the listing. The dock space was great for hanging out all day and the boys loved the huge yard for spike ball and throwing the football around. The WiFi is pretty terrible so download your Spotify playlist before you get there. There are 3 fridges and tons of space in the kitchen which made it easy to stock up for the weekend. Will definitely stay here again next year if we can!

Poor customer service/dirty home
Property ID 1476726 Reservation Dates - 1-5 June 2020. My family saved a great amount of money to rent this home. From the first day we checked in, there has been one issue after another. We drove up from North Carolina. We were told we couldn’t check in early on June 1st because there would be a cleaning crew doing a thorough cleaning due to COVID. We checked into the home at 4:00 on 1 June to find the trash cans full of trash in the kitchen, cobwebs everywhere in the house and dust and dirt. Our family literally had to clean the house the first day we were here. There is black mold in the bathrooms downstairs, the fire extinguisher was used and laying on the back deck, the mat that the grill used to be sitting on was burnt up, I’m guessing due to a fire. The grill was moved out front burnt up, the extra grill we had to use was filthy and rusted. We had to take an hour to clean that one before we could even cook on it. There was also the heavy smell of gas in the kitchen from the gas stove. Renting a lake house for a few days for our older parents shouldn’t have been like this. We have literally had to clean the house so we could spend time here. For this amount of money, this is unacceptable. We have tried contacting VACASA on numerous occasions and the wait on the phone has been an hour or longer. This is not great customer service as they advertise. The entire outside of the home is filthy to include the grass being 6-8 inches tall. In speaking with the guests next door to this home, they stated that the cleaning crew that was here before we checked in was only here for 15 minutes. How do you clean an 8,000 square foot home in that time? We have tried to make the best of it because of my parents. Their first time being outside their house since this pandemic started and I bring them into a dirty vacation rental. We have one last day to be here tomorrow and we will happily be leaving. I will not go through Vacasa to rent another home here at Lake Anna. I want at least half of my money back if not more. I am thoroughly embarrassed to have brought my older parents here. I feel like we’ve spent the entire time cleaning. I have taken pics of everything I listed above if the homeowner would like to see them. I will be more than happy to provide them to him.

Better than advertised
This vacation home was beyond amazing. It was the perfect home for a group get away. We had 20 adults and 2 dogs. This house had more than enough room to accommodate everyone and keep everyone entertained the whole weekend. We will definitely book here again in the future.
