Renters Beware!
Sally knew her condo was flooded for 8 hours before we showed up and did not reach out to tell us so we could make other arrangements. We kept communications with her through check-in, and complied, she did not respond until the fifth day. For additional detail, we received our last check-in communication from her an hour before this happened. When we checked-in, we were required to send her a check in list. At that time we told her that there was flooding. We also sent pictures, but we knew that she was informed for two reasons. 1. There was already flood mitigation equipment in the room in the master bathroom, master closet (which was covered in standing water), main closet and living room. (Day 1) 2. Befor techs showed up the next day. Still no communication from Sally. They came in and set up more equipment. They told us that they talked to Sally about this. Of course they did. They have to get authorization. (Day 2)
During our stay, we were tasked with not only maintaining very loud and heavy, industrial fans, air scrubbing and dehumidifier equipment, but we were also not able to fully enjoy the space. On top of that, there were technicians in and out of our condo while we weren’t there. The day before we leave, a technician came to change the A/C filter. Why? When it could have waited until the next day when we’re set to check out. On top that, the house was so humid from the flood the fire alarms set off constantly
