LOG CABIN W/ SAUNA ON THE CUT RIVER AT HIGGINS LAKE

This cozy off-grid rustic Cut River Cabin has a Sauna 3 bedrooms and a loft that will sleep 10. 120 acres with over 1.3 miles of private riverfront on the pristine Cut River that flows out of beautiful Higgins Lake Michigan.

Approximately 10 minutes/7 miles from the beaches of South Higgins Lake State Park, or the Village of Roscommon which has a full-service supermarket (Family Fare) hardware and outdoor supply stores, and a handful of restaurants.

It's a great spot for a quiet retreat away from people, traffic, pollution, and the stresses of modern digital life with the closest neighbor being over 2 miles away. Enjoy the river, paddling in our canoes, fishing, and swimming. Get out in the woods by hiking or biking through nearly 2,000 acres of public state land and trails surrounding the property.
Included are SNOWSHOES in the winter and CANOES in the summer

The Cut River Cabin is a completely off-the-grid property that relies on solar power. Inside you will find NO TV’s, NO WiFi, and NO Modern Luxury Amenities. 😁 You WILL find solar power to charge any devices that you just can’t live without for a weekend getaway, 😉 Manual operated water well pump (Pitcher Pump), Wood Burning Stove to keep warm on them chilly nights (starter/logs included), Well-equipped kitchen and stove.
Due to its simple and rustic features, the cabin is most appealing to hikers, campers, and people who love the outdoors and don't mind the lack of conventional amenities. A few things included to distract you from the busy world outside are many Books, Board Games, Playing Cards.

Quiet getaway
We loved the cabin and enjoyed our stay. The wood burning stove kept the cabin warm despite it being the middle of February. The property is beautiful with the river steps away. We're already planning on going back later this year and taking advantage of the canoes.

Incredible getaway!
This property is a wonderful break from the crowded noise of campgrounds and cabins close together. With a river running through it. This is the perfect place to relax off the grid. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay!

What an awesome time!
I took my 20 yr old son and 2 dogs with me for 3 days "off-grid". Only disappointment was I had cell service but the cabin and property were amazing, from the riverside cabin the the wood fired sauna, it was a great weekend. Be sure to get up at sunrise to listen to the 1,000's of birds, the gobble of the Turkeys and the calling of the Coyotes. Already planning my next trip.

We had a great time at this cozy rustic cabin. The fire was lit when we arrived with plenty of wood to burn. It had everything that we needed. The kids loved going into the sauna. At night we had never seen so many stars in the sky.

Super secluded. Rustic cabin but with some great amenities. The river is right off the back patio and has crystal clear waters. Property owner was very helpful with all the information we needed. Lots of people asking about where this place was based on the pictures we were taking.

Unplug and unwind
If you are looking for a remote getaway look no further. We visited with our two teenage girls and 2 dogs. Everyone had a great relaxing time and the location is beautiful. The only company is an occasional kayak down the beautiful river. Jeremy was so nice and helpful and even contacted us a couple times during the stay to make sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back.

Great place to get away from it all
If you are looking for a great place to get away and enjoy the outdoors, this is the place! Jeremy was an excellent host. Property was exactly as described. The pitcher well takes a few pumps to prime, but then you get great tasting water....no worries about sulfer. Honestly one of my favorite trips I have taken and my girlfriend and I plan to head back next year!

Halfway between roughing it and a life of comfort
We had a great time at this cabin! It is the perfect mix of secluded from the world, and yet 15 minutes from stores, restaurants, and Higgins Lake beaches. The cabin was pretty toasty in the summer and the screened windows would have been perfect if Mother Nature had given us some wind. The outhouse was very comfortable for what it was. It was rather dark at night in the cabin with only the battery lights, so we had to run the generator to take advantage of the electric lamps. Make sure to bring a bag of ice since there is no fridge, just a very large cooler. Minor complaints aside, we loved our visit and had a blast using the provided canoes on the river right outside our door.

Seclusion at it's best.
The cabin was as remote as stated and it felt amazing. Over the three days of our trip, we have one visitor float by on a canoe. Hiking on this property was incredible and so much wildlife. This area has an optimal rating for dark sky and stargazing did not disappoint. We also enjoyed watching the sunrise and all the activity of the songbirds. The canoes provided at the cabin made exploring the Cut River so much fun. The cabin was clean and Jason was on hand to greet us and answer any questions. The views from the cabin are stunning and we are grateful they opened it up for visitors! You don't even realize you are missing "on-grid" amenities because you are in a stunning location. And if you do need something, town is just a few dirt roads away. I gave a poor rating on check-in, Unfortunately, Jeremy did not provide us any check-in instructions (he was off the grid up in the UP and forgot to send them our way) and we missed our first day at this cabin. At this point, we are still waiting on our refund for our missed day. Leading up to our stay, communication with Jeremy was great and very responsive. Verizon customers, you will have excellent cellular reception.

Beautiful and peaceful secluded cabin. Property owner has went out of his way to make the guests feel comfortable. Tons of wild life viewing, bald eagles were a daily sighting. Make sure you have a 4x4 vehicle to access this cabin.

Guys' Winter Retreat
We used this cabin for a family winter guys' retreat and it was the perfect setting. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The check-in process was seamless. And the cabin was everything and more than what is given in the description. We were lucky enough to have a fresh layer of snow when we showed up and the setting looked like true winter wonderland. Some guys from our group took advantage of nearby Higgins Lake to do some ice fishing and others started out the weekend by going on a winter hike walking the woods and the ice on Cut River. Next we fired up the sauna and cut a hole in the ice for after the sauna. The polar plunge was the highlight of the weekend for us. The cabin itself was perfect for relaxing, eating, and having a good time. It was rustic but comfortable, exactly what we were looking for. The following day, we enjoyed some of the same activities as on day 1. Everybody loved how remote and quite it was in this location. We could not help but start planning our next trip to the cabin and the only disagreement was whether it will be next winter or sooner. We will definitely be back.

Amazing getaway!
Jeremy was awesome to deal with. Had the cabin warm and waiting for us. Everything was super easy to use and set up great. The location was amazing, right on the river, out in the woods, however close enough to run to town if needed. Had perfect cell service(verizon) so if needed you can call or text etc. My dog loved the stay and it was nice to be able to let her run around without fear of neighbors etc like at a campground. All in all will definitely be staying here again very soon!

Amazing Cabin and Sauna
Our family trip was amazing at the Cut River Cabin! There is so much nature around out here that it was great to get away from everything for a while and enjoy each other’s company. The hiking trails around the property were great, and we were able to do a little bit of cross country skiing as well on the property. The owner keeps the firewood for the cabin and the sauna well stocked, and Communication with the owner was great. Any questions we had about the area or where to go was well laid out with all the maps. The grocery store was actually less than a few miles down the road. Needless to say we can’t wait to come back!

AMAZING EXPERIENCE
Wow! This off grid vacation rental was just what we needed to get an Off The Grid Experience. It’s location on 120 acres along the Cut River by Higgins Lake had us out exploring during the whole week we were there. The river was still open so we were able to take a canoe (provided) trip down the Cut River. There was also enough snow and trails to use the snowshoes that comes with the cabin. The days were short but we unplugged as a family, enjoyed a bonfire by the river and relaxing inside the cabin paying games. It was great to connect with nature without being distracted as there are no neighbors for miles. Winter access was easy, as the road is plowed. Town and the parks were close so we could go to restaurants when we didn’t feel like cooking. This place is amazing and we will be back!
