Il Monte is an amazing secluded luxury holiday home, ideal for a spell of isolation under the Umbrian sky. It's not far from Assisi, Perugia and Tuscany is only 2 hours away. It is very private, perfect for families with young children not wanting to travel the area , two family’s holidaying together or a few just a few friends wishing to get away from it all. With options to go exploring or just enjoy the house and pool it has something for everyone...

Il Monte is available to rent for a minimum of 7 nights from Saturday to Saturday during May to October and a minimum of 3 nights from November to April when heating will be charged at cost.

When you enter the gates and you will be in your own piece of Umbria.
There is ample secure parking in the grounds. When you enter the house in the summer through the welcoming double doors you will feel the naturally cool climate of the traditional stone building. During the cooler seasons there is central heating, underfloor heating and big log burner making the whole house very cosy. The renovation by the previous owners was carried out over a 15 year period with no expense spared to achieve the impressive finish of this spacious house geared up for family life, natural stone and terracotta floors, great chestnut beams and traditional stone vaulted ceilings, The current owners have upgraded the interior and furnishings to achieve a very stylish and comfortable holiday house photographs of the revised interior will be posted as soon as they are available.
The lower terrace is perfect for al fresco dining at any time of day even lunch on the hottest days when it becomes a welcome shady retreat where you can look down to the modern South facing 12 x 6 meter family pool and sun deck which is furnished with ample quality sun beds, two cabana beds with flowing drapes making this a relaxing and peaceful haven, the wide steps into the shallow end are perfect for young children.
All external areas are well lit making evenings outside safe and a pleasure.
The large fully equipped kitchen is well lit and finished beautifully it has everything that a large family could need during a self-contained holiday, situated between the outside terrace and the stylish lounge diner which is the centre of family life at Il Monte, look up from the comfortable sofas to the gallery which also has ample sofas giving a younger generation their own area but not isolated from the family group. The living area has very good Wi-Fi which is available throughout the house, a TV, DVD player with DVD’s and a selection of games. During cooler months there is a large log burner for cosy evenings, under floor heating and an excellent heating system, fuel is metered and charged for at cost price at the time of departure.
The accommodation sleeps 11 but using a sofa bed can sleep up to 13 on request.
The master suite or penthouse is spacious (40 m sq) and has an en suite, sofa, tea and coffee facilities and Juliette balcony.
The second double bedroom is spacious and comfortable and shares a bathroom with the bunk room which has bunks plus a single bed making this an excellent family suite.
The third double is smaller but comfortable and well-furnished it has its own private bathroom; this would be perfect for teenagers wanting their own space or a nanny/staff travelling with the group.
There is also a twin bedroom with an en-suite shower room, again great for younger members or the family or friends sharing.
There is a double sofa bed on the large upstairs gallery if requested.
The house is furnished with quality and comfortable furnishings and all linen including pool towels are provided
This is the first year that Il Monte is available for holiday rental which is why there are no reviews, maybe you could write the first one?
There is a security deposit of €500.00 which must be paid before 7 days of arrival this will be invoiced before the due date, it will be reimbursed in full following a damage free stay we will not charge for fair wear and tear or minor breakages.
For groups wanting to explore central Italy, Umbria, Tuscany and La Marche Il Monte is an excellent base with good roads and a central location, Gubbio, Montone, Assisi, Arezzo, Citta di Castello, Perugia, Lake Trasimeno and Cortona are just a few places well worth a visit and within easy reach.

Il Monte:
Situated in northern Umbria, : The Green Heart of Italy, between Gubbio, Citta di Castello and Umbertide, and bordering both Tuscany and Le Marche regions.
A paradise for walkers, art lovers and those who just want to sit still....

Pietralunga is approximately 3km away it is a delightful Umbrian medieval hill top village which has been perfectly preserved there are most conveniences locally with two good supermarkets selling quality local produce including our locally found truffle products, there are banks with ATM, post office, numerous friendly bars, good restaurants, excellent bakery, fresh pasta shop which must be tried and much more, well worth exploring. Visit the Friday market in the piazza for a taste of Italian rural life.

Montone : 15km : Designated one of Italy's "Prettiest Small Towns" and home to Umbria Film Festival (August) and several highly recommended restaurants.

Gubbio : 22km : The most well preserved medieval small town of the region with its scenic and panoramic Piazza Grande.

Citta di Castello: 27km : Old, and new masters, especially Alberto Burri.

Perugia :54km: Artistic, youthful, cultural and home to Umbria Jazz (July) and our closest airport.

Not to mention : Assisi, Monterchi, Spoleto, Arezzo, San Marino, Rimini, Rome and all the places in between.

It is possible to be in Florence within 2 hours, and back in time to watch the sun go down.....
