« Nous étions 4 adultes. Un couple occupait la chambre et l’autre couple occupait la mezzanine. La chambre est grande et très belle mais difficile à chauffer donc les couvertures fournies sont indispensables pour les frileux ! La mezzanine est plus petite que la chambre mais magnifique. La température y est plus douce que dans la chambre mais l’accès n’est pas très aisé car le plafond d’entrée est très bas : attention aux têtes (et au dos) ! « I have to preface this with an *. I had booked the gardener's cottage but there was some sort of booking mishap and the cottage was double booked. To their credit they gave me a room in the main house which was very nice. It was technically an up-grade and there was no charge. I would have like the solitude of the cottage, but I am not upset as I had a lovely time. You should most definitely get dinner. The food was exceptional. « We really enjoyed this cottage. It was exactly as listed. So cozy and felt like home. Our host was lively and we loved the town. We enjoyed several meals at Giltrap Pub. Mattresses are still the kind with springs which was not a great fit for our backs but the rooms and duvet covers were just great!! Nice shower and bathroom. Overall, I’d recommend this cottage to all. We were able to make several day trips East and South. Great location if your renting a car. Thanks a million. »

« We had an amazing time at the cottage. Located close to Leap Castle and Birr Castle so there is tons to do. The drives to either are about 4-10 min. The welcome party are 3 sweet dogs who my nephew got to explore with. He was excited to be sharing a wall with a working cattle farm and seeing the cows. The house was clean and new. Off the main road and tucked away so you enjoy the quiet and ✨ stars . Will definitely be calling again in a few years for next trip!!!! »

« This was a very lovely house, however there was an oil leak with a VERY STRONG ODOR !! This odor gave me a headache. The owner was aware of this problem because her son came over shortly after we arrived, said that they would get someone out to repair it but after 4 nights it was not repaired.. The electric tea kettle had so much red liquid sediment in it I was afraid to use it .. The liquid hand soap dispenser was almost empty in the bathroom. No extra toilet paper was provided. »

« This is without a doubt the most gorgeous place I have ever stayed....that includes five star luxury hotels. I am a long-time solo traveler and have stayed in all kinds of rentals and hotels through the years. « Yvonne and Peter couldn't be more accommodating! Yvonne met us to discuss the cottage. She had nice touches to make everything cozy. It was incredibly clean! We felt at home immediately! It was a wonderful base camp for Kilkenny and several other places. We loved Portlaoise and enjoyed several trips into town ( only a 10 minute drive) We loved their dogs and enjoyed spending time getting to know them. ( Our choice, they are very respectful of privacy) I absolutely recommend their place 100%!! »

Wir hätten uns gewünscht, dass wir einen Kontakt in der Nähe gehabt hätten, der uns auch etwas einweisen hätte können. Der Vermieter ist in Amerika. Er war zwar sehr bemüht uns bei Problemen zu helfen, aber ein persönlicher Kontakt wäre einfach sinnvoller gewesen. Für Gruppen und Familien sehr zu empfehlen. »
