« Fabulous staff and lovely spa / pool with designated swimming times for children. On arrival you’d be forgiven for thinking the hotel looked a bit past its best from the outside and some communal areas are tired, but the reception / bar and restaurant are lovely, and we had a superior room above the spa which is clearly the more recent and refurbished section. « Hillthwaite feels staying in a family home rather than a hotel and the warm welcome certainly matches. The room was spacious and bedding extremely comfortable, which was perfect for a mini break in the area. Extra points for the bathtub (in addition to a full shower)! Breakfast was excellent and the staff is lovely. »

« Great hotel very comfortable bed. All seems new and clean. Just 2 little things, the bathroom floor creaked so felt bad for my neighbors in the night and couldn't seem to turn the heating down in the bathroom, so it was very hot. »

« Great place to stay. I played a round of golf in the afternoon as well. The only downside, is the heavily closing front door. Someone came in/left at midnight, and it sounded like a car crash. »

« Clean & tidy pub with excellent rooms. Large room with double bed and shower room. Good dining in large restaurant and excellent breakfast. Would recommend the food. Staff attentive and fairly polite. Only criticism and its small, is dont serve tea in vacuum jugs at breakfast. Had to ask for tea in a teapot, which duly arrived hot and fresh. « Everything was fantastic. We cannot fault the owners and the colleagues that took care of everything. The only minor fault, would be a lack of WiFi in the rooms we were in. »
