« Wonderful, warm cottage visited in midst of winter. Comfortable and cozy, with plenty of hot water. High quality appliances, furniture and finishes, with access to excellent pubs and restaurants within walking distance. The owners care very much about providing a care-free experience for visitors.An excellent base for anyone wishing to explore the dales, or having an interest in ACG&S TV series. »

« Just back from a lovely little 2 night stay at Grain Cottage. Beautiful little hideaway with everything you could possibly need. « Lovely little cottage, ideal for all local amenities but nestled in a beautiful, quiet and unobtrusive location. The cottage was clean, comfortable and had everything you needed for your stay. a lovely base for our little break away from it all. Just maybe one suggestion, there is a DVD player in the TV in the bedroom, perhaps one for the TV downstairs? Due to the location and as stated in the description TV signal not always the best so to be able to watch one of many of the films provided, ...

« The house was everything we hoped for and more. The decor is spot on and there can't be many houses in Whitby with a better vista. The only thing I would say though is that it is very difficult to load and unload...Church St car park was packed so we had to use the Abbey car park which is a gruelling up/downhill slog for the less fit/able. Be prepared to travel very light as you can't get close to the property with a car. Having said that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return. »

« Went for two nights mid-week with my partner and our dog to celebrate my birthday. Lovely little well kept and decorated property. With nice touches like fresh eggs, milk, homemade cakes and fresh flowers when you arrive. Literally on a working farm with all of the hustle and bustle you would expect, but it still felt private, with great views over the fields. Well stocked kitchen, we cooked both nights we were there. Plenty of walking spots nearby and unrestricted use of the hot tub. »

« We had a very nice 4 day stay to attend a trade show. It couldn’t have been much closer which was great, and close to all the nice restaurants. There’s 1 parking space available which is ideal as parking in the town centre can be difficult. I’d def stay again. »

« 2nd time here and just as good as the first time. Room was spacious, warm and clean. Shower was amazing »

« This is the perfect spot! Lovely, clean, comfortable. Has everything you need. We didn't spend much time here as we were out and about exploring. The location is perfect. There is a train station at the end of the road, so easy to get into Whitby to save the hassle of parking. And a really good bus service, which we used on the way back. There are also lots of other places around the area to visit, we would definitely book again if we were back in that area. »

« A wonderfully warm and cosy cottage, right in the centre of the village. A very warm, welcoming and very attentive host with every amenity provided and a lovely garden and patio area to sit out in. . Highly recommended. »

« This was a lovely stay in a nice peaceful location and very easy to find. I would suggest it would be a stretch for 6 people but for a couple or family with 2-3 kids it would be perfect especially if the kids needed separate rooms. « We had a lovely 2 night stay here, the house is beautifully finished with lots of space. The hot tub was a very welcome addition and we made good use of the living space. Ann was brilliant at providing all the information in advance. My only slight request would be to have some larger pans, cooking for 7 with a small frying pan was quite tricky!! "Un séjour de 3 nuits pour un déplacement professionnel. Le confort des chambres est super Il manque cependant des placards de rangement car celui existant est utilisé pour le coin café. Le service housekeeping laisse cependant à désiré. Le 1er jour nos tasses à café n’ont pas été remplacées alors qu'elles étaient sales, les sachets de thé et de café ont été laissés sur place et le 2eme jour nos lits n’ont pas été fait. "

Lovely staff, dilapidated water damaged rooms.

"In spite of some very lovely staff, this hotel is in an appalling state and desperately need of a facelift. Water damage on the walls, peeling paint, leaking toilets, a broken shower and windows that haven’t been cleaned in years. The owners need to spend a lot of money on this establishment that must have been spectacular in the past, as neither it or the staff deserve it being left in this state."
